Terms of Use
Last updated 3 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Spanner M8. By creating an account or posting a job, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What we do
Spanner M8 is a job board that connects employers in the Australian automotive industry with job seekers. We are not a recruitment agency or an employer. We don't check every ad or applicant, and we're not a party to any employment arrangement made through the site.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 15 years old (apprentices welcome) and give accurate information.
- You're responsible for keeping your login secure. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- One person or business per account. Don't create accounts for anyone else without permission.
3. Job seekers
- Your CV and application must be truthful and about you.
- When you apply, you agree to us sending your application and CV to that employer.
- Do your own checks on employers before accepting a job. Never pay an employer to get a job, and never send bank details or ID until you've confirmed the role is genuine.
4. Employers
- Ads must be for genuine, currently available jobs in Australia, and comply with Australian law — including the Fair Work Act 2009 and anti-discrimination laws.
- Pay advertised must meet the relevant award or minimum wage.
- Don't ask applicants for money, and don't post pyramid schemes, commission-only "opportunities" presented as jobs, or misleading ads.
- Use applicant information only to assess them for the advertised job, keep it secure, and don't share it or add them to marketing lists.
- You must have the right to use any logo you upload.
5. Payments and promo codes
- Job ads cost the price shown at checkout (in AUD) and run for 30 days from when they go live.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices include GST where applicable.
- Promo codes are at our discretion, can't be exchanged for cash, and may be limited in number or time.
- Refunds: if your ad is removed because it breaks these terms, you won't get a refund. Otherwise contact us within 7 days of payment if something went wrong and we'll work it out fairly. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Content we can remove
We can edit, hide or remove any ad, application or account that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or the law, is spam, or puts users at risk — with or without notice.
7. Our liability
We provide the site "as is". We try to keep it running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses arising from ads, applications, hiring decisions or dealings between users. Where our liability can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, it's limited to re-running your ad or refunding what you paid for it.
8. Ending your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are significant we'll let you know. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia.
